General Manager

The role

Swindlers is a cafe, lounge and bar on Aberdeen Walk. Good coffee by day, polished cocktails by night, and an undercurrent of mischief throughout. We're looking for a General Manager to run it.

You'll own the day-to-day running of the venue, manage our events and arrange everything that makes a night here worth talking about. You'll report directly to the Director, and you'll be the person who makes sure what we promise actually happens. Calm when it's busy, sharp when it matters, and never short of a plan.

What you'll do

• Take responsibility for the day-to-day running of Swindlers across cafe, lounge and bar
• Plan, organise and manage events, from first idea to the last guest leaving
• Arrange everything behind the scenes that keeps the venue running smoothly
• Keep standards high, so the experience feels polished and never ordinary
• Report to the Director on how the venue is performing and what's coming up
• Be the go-to decision-maker on the floor when something needs sorting

What you'll bring

• Ideally, experience managing a bar, restaurant, cafe or similar hospitality venue
• A track record of organising events would be a strong advantage
• The organisational skills to juggle a lot at once without dropping the details
• Confident communication with guests, colleagues and the Director alike
• Good judgement, and the ability to make a decision and stand by it
• Personal License not required but a bonus if you have one.

As this is a licensed venue, applicants must be 18 or over. You must have the right to work in the UK.

• Pay: £28,000 - £34,000 per year
• Hours: Full-time, 40+ per week
• Type: Full-time, permanent
• Reports to: Director
• Start date: Immediate
