Cafe & Front of House Server

The role

Swindlers is a cafe, lounge and bar where the coffee is serious and the company is better. Before the cocktails, there's the cafe, and it deserves someone who can pull a proper shot, read a table at a glance and make every guest feel like they've found somewhere worth keeping quiet about.

This is a full-time Cafe & Front of House Server role. You'll be the first face people see and the reason they come back. Barista experience is ideal, but if you've got the service instincts and want to learn the craft, training can be provided.

What you'll do

• Welcome guests, seat them and set the tone from the moment they walk in
• Take orders and serve food and drinks with polish, pace and a bit of personality
• Make coffee to a consistently high standard, or learn to with the training on offer
• Keep the cafe and front of house clean, stocked and looking sharp
• Know the menu well enough to recommend with confidence
• Work alongside colleagues to keep service smooth when it gets busy
• Handle payments accurately and deal with queries calmly

What you'll bring

• Barista experience is ideal, but not essential, as training can be provided
• Front of house, cafe or hospitality experience is a plus
• Clear, friendly communication with guests and colleagues
• The ability to stay composed and organised during a rush
• A good eye for detail, from latte art to a tidy table

• Pay: £12.80 ph hour
• Type: Full-time
• Hours: 32 - 40 hours Per week - Wednesday to Sunday
• Start date: October 2026
• Location: Swindlers, 19 Aberdeen Walk, Scarborough
