Mixologist/ Bar Staff
Swindlers is looking for a cocktail professional who runs a polished bar, keeps every guest looked after and helps train the rest of the team. Good drinks. Better company.
The role
Swindlers is a cafe, lounge and bar in Scarborough where the cocktails are polished and the evenings have a little mischief to them. We're looking for a Mixologist who knows their craft and makes it look effortless.
This is a permanent, full-time role behind the bar and out front. You'll make the drinks people talk about the next day, keep every table looked after, and share what you know with our servers. Late nights suit you, and so does doing things properly.
What you'll do
- Make and serve cocktails and other drinks to a consistently high standard
- Work front of house, welcoming guests and keeping the room running smoothly
- Keep an eye on every table, spotting empty glasses and offering the next drink before anyone has to ask
- Train other servers in drinks knowledge, service and how we do things at Swindlers
- Serve alcohol responsibly and keep the atmosphere relaxed and welcoming
- Keep the bar clean, stocked and ready for service
What you'll bring
- Professional cocktail-making experience, with confidence in the classics and an eye for presentation
- Bar experience in a busy, guest-facing venue
- The ability to explain your craft clearly and help colleagues improve
- A calm, sociable approach to front-of-house service, even when it's busy
- Attention to detail, from the garnish to the guest
As this role involves serving alcohol, applicants must be 18 or over. You must also have the right to work in the UK.
The details
- Pay: £12.80 per hour + tips
- Contract: Permanent, full-time
- Hours: 35+
- Shift pattern: Wednesday to Sunday
- Start date: October 2026
- Location: Swindlers, 19 Aberdeen Walk, Scarborough
How to apply
Apply below with a few lines about you. Tell us about the bars you've worked in and the drink you're proudest of. Some plans should stay between us, but this one's worth sharing.
