Assistant Manager

The role

Swindlers is a cafe by day, a lounge by evening and a bar by night. Somebody has to keep all three looking effortless. That's where you come in.

As Assistant Manager, you'll work alongside the General Manager to run the floor, lead the team and make sure every guest gets the same thing: good drinks, sharp service and the feeling they've found somewhere worth keeping quiet about. You'll switch from espresso to cocktails without breaking stride, and you'll lead colleagues by doing it well yourself.

What you'll do

• Run shifts across cafe, lounge and bar service, keeping the pace steady and the standards high
• Lead, support and motivate the team on the floor, from briefings to busy rushes
• Work across coffee, food service and the bar as the shift needs
• Look after guests personally and handle the occasional tricky moment with charm and authority
• Help with the day-to-day running of the venue, including opening, closing and cashing up
• Serve alcohol responsibly and make sure licensing rules are followed on every shift
• Step up when the General Manager is off and keep the place running exactly as it should

What you'll bring

• Multiskilled cafe and bar experience. You're comfortable behind the coffee machine and the bar
• Management experience in hospitality, including leading a team through service
• Calm judgement when the room gets busy
• A natural ease with guests and an eye for the details that make a night
• Applicants must be 18+ as the role involves serving alcohol, and must have the right to work in the UK

• Pay: £13.20 per hour
• Hours: 40 hours per week
